NO CAFFEINE! ok, maybe just a little

Since I did my 7 day detox/cleanse, I have gone almost 2 weeks without a coke or coffee. That doesn't seem like a huge accomplishment, but for me and where I was before that, it's pretty big. I had gotten to a point where I was drinking like a coke a day which was ridiculous - that's not usually how I am! During the detox, I changed my diet which consisted of cutting out caffeine, extra sugar and meat. I had a little of each during the 7 days, but kept up with no coke or coffee. The first few days I had horrible headaches and didn't feel well, but then I got over it and actually didn't crave anything like that! I have been very proud of myself. Then tonight, as I was heating up left overs for dinner, Travis decided he wanted sonic instead and when he came home with the food, he had brought me an iced coffee. I instantly had this fear, of "oh no, I have gone so long without it, what will I do?!" He had forgotten that I had been without coffee for that long and was just trying to bring me a drink that I would like, so then I felt bad and didn't want it to go to waste, so I figured, ok, I might as well go ahead and drink some of it. And let me tell you, it was good! I was hoping it would be disgusting because I hadn't had something like it in a long time and hadn't craved it, but no, it was the opposite. It was like the best thing I had ever had through a straw ever! But, then the fear set in again....will this cause me to crave one tomorrow too? Will I get a headache tomorrow? But I went ahead and sat on the couch to type this up and drink it when suddenly, I spilled half of it all over my lap and the couch! Luckily, even with the smell of coffee set in, I don't think it will stain. But, I guess that was my sign that I wasn't supposed to finish it and that I'm better off without it. That's what I'm taking it as anyway.

Here's the thing - life is short (and getting shorter every time you visit tropic tan) what the heck is wrong with a little joe/pop every now and then. Extremes aren't good - either way you go. Nothing in excess, if you stick to that you can have anything you want! (that's my theory anyway!)
