On Tuesday night, Travis, Kyle, Jacci, and I drove to Cincinnati to the US Bank Arena to watch and listen to Elton John and Billy Joel live in concert! This was a huge deal! I wanted to see Elton John a few years ago but we didn't get the tickets in time. I had kind of figured that the day when I could see him live just would never come. I have a DVD set of his with some music videos and live performances on it. I have watched it several times just sitting there imagining that I was there. A few months ago, I had this sudden thought to just quickly get on the internet and see if he was going do any of his Vegas shows while Jacci and I will be there in May. I saw that he wasn't going do to any shows during that time at all, so I scrolled down to see how close, if close at all, that he was coming to Indiana. To my amazement, I saw that he would be in Cincinnati on March 10th! But not just him...Billy Joel as well! I couldn't believe what I was reading! I knew right then that I had to get tickets! I decided to get one for me (of course), one for Travis, and then one for Jacci and Kyle each for their Christmas presents from me. I was so excited that we were all actually going to be seeing Elton John and Billy Joel live! So, jump ahead to Tuesday night, and we are there! In the same room as Elton John! Music icon and royalty! We thought our seats would be terrible, but they were actually more than decent! My only complaint was that I had to sit pretty much the entire time. It's really hard for me to sit during a show. The stage and show was incredible! Their pianos came out of the stage as well as the band members. Elton and Billy played with each other and alternated songs, then Elton performed solo, then Billy took his turn, and then they both came back on together again to end the show and both bands joined them! It was incredible how well they know each others songs! They sound amazing together! Elton is an amazing performer and Billy has so much energy and can really entertain. We were all sad though that This Train Don't Stop was not played. I kind of expected that it wouldn't be, but I really was hopeful! I just knew that I would break down bawling my eyes out if he did. This is not my favorite of Elton's songs (that would be I Want Love) but it has such meaning between all of us. But, he at least played Goodbye Yellow Brick Road which was in our top 4 songs we wanted to hear. I still can't believe that we were there! Like, I'm excited about it, but it's kind of hard to be too excited, because it just seems unreal to me. I could probably talk about it all day, but I will stop and just show you some pictures and another video or two.
