This past weekend was a good one, and different from most because Travis and I took off both Saturday and Sunday for his birthday. It started off on Friday night using some free time to volunteer our babysitting talents to Mr. Evan, then on Saturday afternoon, we got to visit a new baby....Brayden Allen Chew. Alyssa looked great for having just had her 2nd baby the day before! Congratulations guys, he's adorable! After holding Brayden, we used a gift card that my mom had given us and ate at St. Elmos. It was a delicious meal, and we finally got to try the world-famous shrimp cocktail sauce. My head didn't blow off, but my sinuses did go through some strange, trippy reactions! After we stuffed ourselves with dinner, I grabbed my take-home box with 1 whole chicken (yes, that's right, that's what I still had left after eating) in it and we shopped around some at Circle Center Mall. While there, we got to see our friend Erica who is the manager at Charlotte Russe! We're so glad we ran into her! When we were tired of the mall, we went to Fountain Square for some duckpin bowling at a birthday party (not for Travis). Neither of us had ever duckpin bowled, so that was a new experience. We hadn't even been to Fountain Square before. It was fun! It is a great place if you need a big party idea. Sunday we went to church, then got to watch In Bruges. Travis really wanted to see this movie, so it was a must-do for the weekend. If you like dark comedy, actions starring Colin Farrel and the cast of the Harry Potter movies, then this is the movie for you. Then it was finally home to relax and watch another movie, but on the couch this time.
overall, it was a great weekend! I rarely get time off, and Travis and I rarely get that much time together, so I really enjoyed it and hated knowing that I was going to go back to work today.
things we got to do:
duckpin bowling
shop
watch new movie
order Eddie Izzard tickets
try a restaurant for the first time
things we didn't get to do:
see U2 3D
get our old couch and chair picked up by Amber
take a long nap on Sunday

Evan thanks you again for the pleasure of your company! Seriously, though, it was such a nice surprise when you offered to babysit on one of your few days off - we had a great time!
And another big "happy birthday" to Travis!
