National Treasure/church camp
For church camp this year, we are showing the movie National Treasure with Nicholas Cage. We show a movie every year and then do lessons on it and tie it in to everyday life. If anyone has seen this movie and have already thought of some hidden meanings in it or know of any sites out there where people do this sort of thing (bible studies with well-known movies) then pass the info along. I'm going to try to do most of this on my own, but any help would be nice. There might be a lot that I'm not seeing. Also, if you could remember, please add camp to your prayer list. There are going to be a lot of changes this year, and we have a lot of freshmen coming in, so lots to be nervous about. We want it to be a great year!

Morgan-
I have seen the movie a couple of times and off the top of my head I would have to say that one good lesson that could be learned (and this might be too obvious) is that just because something is implausible (like stealing the Declaration of Independence or any one of the miracles in the bible), or has not been seen by anyone alive today (the treasure or God and heaven) doesn't mean that they can't be done or don't exist. That sounded much better in my head, but whatever. Hope that helped a little.
Travis-
Deanna and I have plans to go to Cincinnati from July 1st through the 3rd, in which case I will probably not be able/willing to go see a midnight showing of Transformers on the 3rd. However, I would really like to go see it with you. So if you could wait till the 5th that would be awesome. Talk to both of you later.
The site I was tell you about is www.cinematherapy.com - I was checking it out yesterday but they don't have this movie on there - I couldn't find anywhere like this that did - but maybe it could give you some ideas - it separates the movies by "lessons" so you could find a similar movie and use the material for that one... Having journaling time after they watch and letting them make the connections might be a good idea too...
