Just as long as I don't turn into Nicolas Cage

We are now staying at a resort and spa of the Ritz Carlton kind in Lake Las Vegas, just about 20 minutes from Las Vegas. The trip has gone really well so far! I have been thanking God everyday that we have been safe and healthy along the way. We've also done pretty well with our directions, only having to do a few "turn-a-rounds" from time to time. :) God has blessed us for sure! I got to spend quite a bit of time in total in my favorite state, Arizona, which I knew would be my favorite part of the trip. First we went to Tuscon, which I love, even though I think the city has grown too much for my liking. And then we stayed 2 nights in Sedona. This town is the perfect spot for a massage therapist who loves peace, quiet, and the great outdoors! Both times I have visited Sedona, I have felt right at home! Thanks Sedonians! :) Then, on our way out, we made sure to drive through Flagstaff. For those of you who don't know yet, I am pretty positive that I want to make Flagstaff our future home. The first time I drove through, I barely got to see any of the town, but I looked at Travis and said, we're going to live here someday! Then, this time, Jacci and I explored the town and campus a bit more, and I felt even more enlightened by this town! It's just perfect! Similar to Bloomington in size, it has a small university (so it has the "college feel"), a mall, a chilis (!), Target, and....the mountains are your back yard!! Even though it's located in a "hot" state, Flagstaff can get quite chilly and the mountains can become a big ski site! So, you have a little of the change of seasons like we're used to in the midwest! So, anyway, enough about that, we're in Vegas now, staying at a place that neither Jacci or I feel we deserve and feel we'll be kicked out any minute, but we're enjoying it and will get our facials in about 25 minutes! I have done some writing along the way - how could I not with all of this amazing scenery to inspire me?! I will try to post some when I finally remember to get my journal (tessa, it's the one you gave me a few years ago) out of my car. For now, here's a little something about the city that is Las Vegas. I am still coming up with the words currently in my head. I think it's going to mostly rhyme, which I have said before on here that I am not good at, so we'll see how it sounds...

Driving through the city that is Las Vegas, I find there is nothing at all discreet.
From the city lights to the people you will meet.
Do you have enough money, do you have enough time?
It's alight if you don't, just like the old lady next to you at the slot machine, losing it all, you will be just fine.
In each hand there is a drink or a cigarette.
It's like we haven't realized these aren't good for you yet.
The weather is hot but hey, no humidity.
We all walk around without our humility.
The older ones have it all.
The younger ones are just having a ball.
When placing that big bet, you look toward Elvis for your soul to save,
It may not be PC, but after all, this is Vegas, Babe!

Ok, so that was short and sounded negative, but I promise, we're having a great time! :)
