Your Song

I love that I have an ipod and I have what I think is a pretty good selection of songs on it, but I find myself already growing weary of the music that is on there when I am driving in my car. I usually leave it on shuffle, but my ipod thinks that means to play the same 10 songs all the time, and I end up skipping a lot of what I have on there, but I don't really want to take it off. So, I am asking for your help. If you don't mind, please give me 3-5 songs that you think I should add to my ipod. They can be your favorites, new ones you've heard, or just fun old-school stuff that will make me feel good. I may already have what you give me on there, but if not, I promise to add them to my selection. You can respond on here, facebook, or email, but if you put them on here, you might be giving others those ideas too which is kind a cool! thanks all!

Hmm, I could do this all day...

Well, I've been listening to "Glory Box" from Portishead's Dummy a lot lately...and anything from Rogue Wave is a must, but I especially like "California" from Descended Like Vultures, and their single "Eyes."

I'm also a big fan of pretty much everything that Matt Pond PA does, although my favs would be "last song" from Emblems, and his cover of "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea" from Winter Songs

And an absolute must have on any iPod...Mark Kozelek's cover of "If You Want Blood" from What's Next to The Moon

Sorry, but I can't leave these guys out...Jeff and I have been wearing OUT (still) Kings of Leon's new album Only by the Night. And if you think you don't like their sound, you have to give it a second chance because not only does this album stand on it's own, but it's also super awesome. At least give these a listen..."Revelry," "Use Somebody," and "Sex on Fire." I'm totally in love with his voice!! (Don't tell Jeff!)

A few strange and absurd loves of mine are:

State Radio - Keepsake
Okkervil River - Unless it's Kicks
Bishop Allen - Rain
Bishop Allen - The Chinatown Bus
ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING FROM THE FORMAT - The Compromise, Tune Out, The first Single, etc. I loves me some Format.

I'm not a music buff... at ALL. That's probably something I'm very ignorant in... amongst other things! I'm still pretty partial to Lifehouse, Hanson, and NKOTB :)

I know whenever I need to "feel the music," I listen to Chocolate Rain by Tay Zonday.

I'm listening to the new album from Margot and the Nuclear So and So's. Very different from their previous stuff, but great just the same. Also, feeling Gordon Lightfoot these days. Very calming.
