Our friend Milo is visiting with us this weekend! He came down to Bloomington for the Drum Corps International contest. It started on Thursday and ended tonight. Travis and Kyle went with him last night and then I was able to go tonight along with our friend Jacci. I'm so glad I got to go too! I clearly have no musical talents, instrumentally or vocally and yet am still blown away by these kids! I never knew this kind of stuff could be that cool. I mean, I've always known that it takes a special talent and dedication and these people must practice all day everyday for this, but I think this was the first time I have actually witnessed it to this degree up close like that. I kept saying, this must be their entire life! They probably do nothing but eat, breathe and poop their routine. I pretty much felt at the end of the night after they had given away the trophy that I just have not accomplished anything in my life...not compared to being able to play an instrument, march, dance, flip, and act all at the same time. What a sense of accomplishment these kids must feel when they're done!

Anyway, we decided that we would have to make this a tradition. The tickets are expensive and it will be in Indianapolis next year, but I think we can make it work. So, thanks to Milo and his parents for these amazing tickets and the chance to witness the performances that probably changed the lives of so many kids! Glad we got to spend some time with you Milo!
*update - added some pictures from the show. The top picture was the winning corp.
