I've been checking out this Top 25 of 25 list on 92.3's web site and I'm gonna have to weigh in on it now, or I'm gonna lose my mind. For the most part, I'm not surprised by the list, but that's not to say I agree with it in any way. There are some pretty appalling choices in there, and some extremely glaring omissions. So, without further ado, I'll provide a list of albums that I feel were either senselessly left our, or ranked unjustly.
Glaring omissions (numbered only for listing purposes, not actual order):
1. Guns N Roses - Appetite For Destruction (1987)
It had Welcome to Jungle, Sweet Child O Mine, and Paradise City and still wasn't on the list? Really?
2. Michael Jackson - Thriller (1982)
He's a nut job, but this album is on every list ever constructed. I'd say it's not 92.3 music, but they put Prince - Purple Rain on the list, so I think it's fair game.
3. Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape (1997)
Everlong is one of the greatest songs every put on cd and I'll fight to the death anyone who says otherwise. Add in My Hero, Walking After You, and Monkey Wrench on top of Everlong and tell me why that's not on this pathetic excuse for a list.
4. The White Stripes - Elephant (2003)
I'm not so much mad that it's not on there as I am that none of their albums are and yet John Mayer is on there twice and David Gray is on there at all.
5. The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995)
Say what you want about Billy Corgan's bald, creepy head, the guy made some amazing music before the band broke up. I'd almost say Siamese Dream is a better choice for the list, but there are just too many great songs on this double disc.
Rank issues:
1. REM - Automatic for the People (1992)
I'm too disturbed about this ranking to even speak. This album does not fall outside the Top 5 of any list, EVER.
2. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991)
There are not 23 albums on the 92.3 list that are better than this. There just aren't.
Special John Mayer/David Gray section:
I get that Mayer gets an album on the list. I don't like it, but it was going to happen. But 2? I'd pick 2 albums from any other artists on the list before I'd give him the honor of being the only one with 2 albums on the list. And then there's David Gray. If he didn't count the votes himself, there's no excuse for this album being on anything but maybe a Top 25 Most Overrated Albums of the Past 25 Years List.

I disagree with Mellon Collie - Siamese Dream maybe...
Other than that I totally agree with all of your first 5 listed.
Also disagree that REM's should be in the top five (in a lot of ways I feel they're overrated...) But concur on RHCP's
I have another to add to my top five list: STP - Core
I haven't actually looked at the site, I'll get around to it...
Automatic for the People is an awesome cd, whether you think REM is overrated or not. That album is just so touching & meaningful
